About this property

Welcome to Guyers House Hotel

Set on six acres of gently maintained countryside, Guyers House Hotel offers traditional rooms within a historic country house setting. Its ornate gardens provide a peaceful backdrop, enhancing the relaxed and slow-paced atmosphere praised by many guests. The decor reflects a homey, country manor style, which some visitors find charming, though a few note that certain rooms feel slightly dated and could benefit from updating.

The on-site restaurant serves British fine dining, which is generally well received, although some have commented on occasional delays due to limited staff. Absolutely had the best time at Guyers house hotel . Enjoyed a wonderful wedding . Staff were so attentive and pleasant couldn't do enough for us. The food was excellent the grounds well kept and extensive. We were lucky to see a red kite and a doe with her fawn. Lovely memories.

Great location, rooms need some updating and more staff required, they took too long to bring breakfast to some. Food was good quality and presented well. I would have given a five star review if not for the late service due to staff shortages and the room needs updating.

We stayed at Guyers house for one evening. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! The gardens are immaculate, ample parking, and lovely room. As other reviews have said, the rooms are slightly dated but, in my opinion, in the BEST way. The décore is perfect for the building with a homey country manor feel. The hotel was slow paced and relaxing with polite and helpful staff who really looked after us. The breakfast was excellent, my eggs royale was cooked to perfection! It would have been nice to have a few more options on the continental breakfast spread but also understand that it’s a smaller hotel where waste could be an issue. Thank you for a beautiful stay, your staff and gardeners are an absolute credit to the hotel.

A lovely hotel stay, was here for around a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was nice, with good functionality. TV / WiFi was great, nice bath and good sleep quality. Breakfast was good although sometimes a little small as I didn't have mushrooms or black pudding. It has a lovely garden, although Spring was yet to fully bloom. The building was very pleasant, we stayed in the area around the side of the main hotel.

Booked a double room at the last minute and was mesmerised by the beautiful gardens and hotel. Room was clean, had fresh towels, shower was rejuvenating. Bed was comfy, with 5* hotel style pillows and had a great sleep! Views from the window are superb. Highly recommend this hotel. Near to Bath only 20 mins drive away. Thank you to the staff for a great overnight and day experience. Loved it. A real countryside experience. Blissful, scenic and beautiful.

I’m a little troubled with this review. Staff were lovely and they changed us rooms when we asked for it. Breakfast was included and the daily rate was unbelievably low but there were lows, not so clean room carpets, think walls rooms and tiny bathrooms. The room we got was spacious and had a tv and chimney. Good location and again, very competitive price. Great for 1 or 2 nights max.

Stayed here for one night this past weekend with my girlfriend. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, offered dinner and told about the service times for breakfast the next morning. We weren’t in need of dinner and checked in after a long drive, and it was getting fairly late. So we just went to our room. We loved everything about the room. Comfy bed, great water pressure for shower and bath. TV that is easy to connect to your own Netflix. The choices of hot drinks were great (lovely coffee and hot chocolate) We slept really well and also enjoyed the magnificent grounds the next morning. This is a historical, old hotel, but it is friendly comfortable and highly recommended. Our favourite hotel by a mile. Lovely staff both in the evening and morning. We would love to return soon. We just had our wedding reception here and had an amazing time. The day went exactly as planned and the staff were amazing to bring it all together. The food was exceptional and enjoyed by all. Those with dietary requirements were well catered for as were the children. The grounds and venue are amazing and idyllic which produced the most amazing photos. The honeymoon suite is large, well equipped and very comfortable despite being somewhat more expensive than the other rooms (worth the additional fee). The events team were great at keeping in touch and meeting our needs for our wedding. There was just two niggles but they weren’t a show stoppers. We had hoped for the traditional outdoor Christmas tree but this wasn’t to be and was made up for by having many indoor trees. There was only the bar food menu offered the night before, that said the food was delicious then too (be sure to pre-book if you don’t want a long wait for larger groups). Be aware of time keeping for meals, you must be prompt otherwise you risk not getting fed without an additional fee. Meal timings are clearly displayed. It is a great spot for a wedding. I recommend this place for others considering a wedding of this type.
